My worst pregnancy symptoms with Sienna

*This post contains a sponsored link
I found my pregnancy with Sienna really hard, I swear I had every pregnancy symptom going and I had them to the max. It is definitely one thing I am not looking forward to when it comes to my next pregnancy, as much as I want another baby.

With that being said, I didn't really get to document my pregnancy much on my blog as I had horrendous morning all day sickness and migraines. Since we've been trying for another baby, I have found myself getting all nostalgic about my pregnancy with Sienna and wishing I had documented it more. I thought I'd share a few posts about the pregnancy in the next coming weeks or before I know it, I'll have had another and Sienna's will be a distant memory!

My worst pregnancy symptoms:

Sickness.

This was probably my worst symptom. It wasn't morning sickness or even nausea. It was all day, full blown puking. I must have physically thrown up at least 3 times every day until I was around 17 weeks and then it finally went down to once a day until 20 weeks. Ergh. In the first few months, all I could keep down was McDonalds. I never used to believe people when they'd say things like this, I thought they just used it as an excuse because they were pregnant but honestly, most mornings I'd try to have porridge and fruit or toast and it would come straight back up! A McDonalds breakfast wrap would stay down and make me feel better for a few hours… no wonder I gained 3 stone! I was given anti-sickness tablets but they wouldn't even stay down, luckily I didn't dehydrate and need hospitalising. Little sips of water were the way!

Migraines.

As if the sickness wasn't bad enough, I also suffered with severe migraines in the first 4 months as well. They were constant, banging migraines. All I wanted to do was sleep so I couldn't feel the pain. I remember when I was 7 weeks pregnant, I had one of the worst migraines ever. I was so worried and in so much pain I rang NHS direct and I was just crying hysterically, saying there must be something could do because I felt like my head was going to explode. In the end doctors prescribed codeine to be used sparingly and not at all in the last few weeks, but they barely touched it.

Heart burn.

In the last few weeks, heart burn was the WORST. I couldn't eat without it burning, couldn't lie down without it burning…Trying to sleep was the worst. Gaviscon and cold milk became my best friends for heartburn during pregnancy

Hayfever.

When the warmer months hit, I suffered really badly with Hayfever and when you're pregnant you can't take the regular medication. I remember one night I was literally awake all night because I just couldn't breathe properly and my nose was either streaming or blocked. In the end I just had to use a nose spray every 2 minutes.. nothing really helped!

Itching.

Towards the end of my pregnancy, I noticed I was itching all over my body SO much, it was driving me crazy. I went to the doctors for something different and at the end she asked if I had any questions. I casually mentioned it and asked if it was normal during pregnancy. She immediately looked alarmed and said 'This could be very serious, I need to do some blood tests right now'. Of course, I freaked out. She told me it was a sign of OC which can be extremely dangerous and I had to be prepared that if I did have it, I would more than likely be taken into hospital to be monitored until they could induce me at 37 weeks. ARGH, was all that was in my mind. Luckily, I didn't have it, they checked twice within a week and both tests were negative so phew! But that was scary and something I had never heard of before, I was so glad I mentioned it and I'm so glad I know to look out for it next time!

There are plenty more symptoms but I won't bore you with all of them, these were just the ones that stood out to me!
