Dog's dental health with Dentastix

Dental health is something that's really important when it comes to your dogs and doing certain things regularly can really help maintain or improve dental hygiene. Pedigree are a great brand when it comes to pet food and everything they do is for the love of dogs, including Pedigree dental care. They are on a mission to encourage dog owners to ensure their dogs get regular dental care and we were excited to take part.

Pedigree Dentastix are one of the most effective ways you can help promote good oral hygiene.. they are recommended by vets and are scientifically proven to reduce tartar build up by a whopping 80% which is brilliant! They are a unique X shaped dental stick that is to be eaten daily by your dog and are low in fat, with no added sugar and free from artificial preservatives, colours and flavours. They have a gentle abrasive texture and active ingredients that help reduce the tartar and plaque.

Piper isn't normally into any kind of 'treats' except rawhide but she seemed really interested in these and was trying to grab them out my hand; they must have smelt good! She has been having one a day since we received them and she has been loving them and never leaves any. She also recently had a little check up at the vets and they said everything looked good, including her teeth so that's good news.. they've definitely been a great addition to Piper's diet, not only does she enjoy them but they do seem to be keeping her teeth and mouth in good condition.

Other tips I have for good dog dental care besides a daily Dentastix is clean their teeth a good few times a week (if they will let you) and never skip their check ups. You may think that your dog looks fine or doesn't seem ill but with things like the mouth, we probably don't even know what we're looking for, so letting someone qualified do it is ideal.
