The Toddler-sized challenge - My idea

I've recently been involved in something that I'm really excited about as it's something I'm passionate about it. I'm talking about getting kids to eat healthy and balanced with the toddler-sized challenge.

The Toddler-sized challenge is a crowd sourcing initiative to capture practical ideas on how feeding toddlers can be made really easy for parents. They are asking parents, to come up with an idea or product, that will help parents know what food groups they should be eating, how much and how often. They are hoping will become the largest parent-created crowdsourcing project, and attract parents nationwide to take part, including YOU reading this right now. There will one winner with a prize value of £1000 and two runners up both winning £500.

I've been thinking over the past few weeks what would make it easier for me on a busy day, when my brain is too frazzled to function but I still want to give them a healthy, balanced meal. I had to have a go at entering and this is what I came up with:

Toddler-sized challenge

My toddler-sized challenge idea:
My idea is toddler measuring cups, all held together on a ring so they don't get lost. Each would be the right portion size for each different food group. The measuring cups would have the symbol of each food group on them so it's easily memorable.

To go alongside the measuring cups, I'd love some mini recipe cards that was attached to the ring of the cups to go with them. These recipe cards would give you quick, easy, toddler friendly recipes that you can make, using the cups as a measuring tool. All the recipes would ensure to use all of the food groups for one meal or snack so you are sure they are balanced. They'd also give a recommended time of day this snack or meal was good for as well as ideas for the rest of the day so foods are varied and not repeated too much, a bit like a daily meal plan. This would help cover which foods to eat, how often and how much all in one recipe so it couldn't be easier to feed toddlers!

I think I'd personally benefit from this, I already use quick and easy recipes where's its use a cup of this and a cup, of that so I definitely think I'd get a lot of use out of something like this!

If you think you have a good idea that would work too, go ahead and upload it here! Remember the idea has to come up with an idea or product, that will help parents know what food groups they should be eating, how much and how often.

If you don't fancy uploading a whole new idea yourself, make sure you take a look at everyone else's ideas.. liking and commenting other people ideas can still enter you in for the chance of winning a £100 Love2Shop voucher.

What would your idea be? I can't wait to see who wins!
